Neighbors

When I was young, my mother had me go around shoveling sidewalks and driveways for money. My sunday school classes taught me about serving others, and so there were a few times that I shoveled older people's driveways and sidewalks without asking, and without pay.

My mother summed it up nicely. "That's just what neighbors do".

The folks across the street from us are elderly, and very kind. This winter, we've taken it upon ourselves to take care of their driveway and sidewalk, because, as my mother said, "That's just what neighbors do." They have a son who can do it, and friends who can as well. But we're right across the road. So we do it. The kids help when a snowblower isn't needed. I can see the looks on their faces when I tell them to go (less than happy), and the looks when they come back (feeling good inside).

This morning, the neighbor's son came around with his front-end loader. He not only did our driveway, but he gathered snow from the street, our drive, and our yard, and built the kids one of the biggest "snow mountains" they've seen in a while.

So yeah, being opportunistic, I used the moment to reinforce a lesson to the kids- "That's what neighbors do."

Families, neighbors and neighborhoods are what built America. Fractured families, neighbors, and neighborhoods are what will end in the fall of America. Not America the liberal western democracy, not America the geopolitical nation-state, but America.

I think you know what I mean. Culture. Values. Spirit. Society.

Be a good neighbor.

So there we were, sitting around watching old episodes of the kid's cartoon Arthur.

My four-year-old daughter gets up, declares that Arthur is "boring", and proceeds to find and turn on the portable DVD player (a lifesaver on the trip here from Alaska).

I watch with interest as she puts in a DVD.

It starts to play.

Gods & Generals was her choice, over Arthur.

I am one proud father.

On War and Junger

Here is von Clausewitz's "On War" in .pdf format.

von Clausewitz's treatment of war is one of my favorite, next to Junger's On Pain and Storm of Steel .

Clausewitz treats war as a mechanical extension of politics. Cold, impassionate, and brutal, but honest, and I believe accurate. The individual soldier's experience is anything but impersonal and mechanical, but I think war, on the macro scale, must to be viewed in this war. Lee was quoted as saying that to be a good soldier, one must love the army, but must also be willing to order the death of the thing he loves.

What effect on war do you think war-as-politics has on the prosecution of war? How might that differ from a war-as-righteousness approach?

Junger treats it, from the warrior's perspective, as a test of manhood, almost as a catechism of sorts. Coming from Junger, wounded more times than I'd care to consider, the message has quite a bit of authority.

I'm drawn to considering the high incidence of PTSD among modern warriors versus those of the past. Would a Junger-like view towards war change that?

How could a war-as-righteousness approach as compared to a war-as-politics affect an individual's ability to cope with war?

How might all this apply to potential unpleasantness in the near future here at home?

(Re) Focusing

I am going to take the next few days to (re) focus on the task(s) at hand. I will continue to post, but likely on matters of a lighter nature. I might even post a stupid cat picture or two.

Enough doom and conflict. Enough gloom and despair. Enough outrage and frustration. Enough ...BS.

You will see changes in the next few days to the format, layout, and content of the blog as I work on priorities and make it more representative of why we fight / what we're fighting for. This may involve the erasure and/or replacement of some links. This will, in no way, reflect any message whatsoever other than simple housecleaning here, which is something I've been meaning to do for a while. Please do not read into it. I may even end up migrating to Wordpress, in light of Google/Blogger's new privacy concerns.

Sometimes it is hard to keep the eyes on the goal.

Community Disruption- The Enemy's Work, Done for Free

I mentioned, not too long ago, that I would look upon further initiation of personal attacks as a deliberate attempt at the disruption of the community. It has happened.

During the course of the past several days, I have endeavored to facilitate the resolution of an interpersonal conflict within the community through an email circulated openly within a small group of people in the community. This communication involved the ongoing Vanderboegh/Kerodin issue.

Parts of said email has now been published on Mike Vanderboegh’s website in an egregious (but now clearly standard) ploy to air private discussions out in the interests of serving ego and making a point.

Mike has betrayed the confidence of all those involved, and has -once again- used what was meant as a private communication as a tool to “prove himself right” in a public manner.

I provided a balanced audience of email recipients from the community to witness and judge the interactions. Some are partial to Mike. Some to Kerodin. Some were impartial, and likely would rather not have been included. I did this for a reason.

Every one of you in that email stream saw exactly what happened. Every one of you needs to call this out.

Right now.

This is community policing, "tough love", so to speak, and it needs done.

As a result, I am forced to come to the conclusion that the man most responsible for launching the “III” movement is untrustworthy, and more interested in being perceived as “right” –publicly at least- than in any other objective, to include that of advancing liberty and cohesion in the community.

Where is your honor, Mike?

Where is your integrity, Mike?

You claim to be a leader, Mike. I'm calling you on it. Start acting like one.

I note the lack of intellectual honesty -and context- present in the sections of the out-of-context emails Mike decided to publish. I also note the lack of objective evidence –all around- for any of these divisive and spurious claims of one party or another being a “rat”, "informant", "snitch", or whatever.

It’s utter childish nonsense, and this 90’s militia “HE'S A SNITCH!!!" mentality has got to stop. Now.

As a result, for what it is worth, I will say that it is crystal clear that Mike Vanderboegh is promoting divisiveness, and has betrayed the trust of all involved in the private conversation for no reason other than his public self-advancement. Divisiveness for truth and principle is one thing. That is not what this is about. This is about trying to show the world that "I'm right", and betraying nine people, nine community members, including myself, in the process.

I will not visit Sipsey Street Irregulars again, and I encourage my readers to do the same until there is a retraction and a mea culpa.

Email addresses are easy to find on my site, Mike’s, and Kerodin’s.

I highly encourage the community to weigh in, and perform a virtual “sock party” to correct this situation, through email or comments.

Just be advised, if you email, that there is a high probability of Mr. Vanderboegh publishing your emails.

You decide, folks. We either stand together to end this once and for all or we let it continue to fester.

Regardless of Mike's many contributions, he his dead wrong on this. He needs to be told that, and not just by me.

Visit to the Sheriff's

I took a trip to the local county sheriff's office today.

Fingerprints and everything.

It was for a permission slip to carry a self-defense tool.

The deputies, young men about my age or younger, were mostly pleasant and "gun guy" types. A welcome change from the arrogance I experienced with Alaska State Troopers. We spoke about shooting and rising crime in the area due to the oil boom, and how the ND state government was making it progressively harder to get a Concealed Carry permission slip.

And no, I'm not worried about being "on record", or about having my prints taken. The .gov has my prints and DNA, and has for years due to my .mil service.

We're all on record, anyway. ;-)

Now I just have to pay for some passport pictures, and pay an additional extortion fee ("processing fee"), and the privilege of being allowed to legally carry the means to defend my family will be all mine. In 6-8 weeks.

Yay for me.

Gotta love anti-self-defense states.

May issue, shall issue, whatever. It's all bunk, IMO, if you have to have a permission slip to carry at all.

Given this, and the potential for actual, real life, non-internet-games interaction between actual, real people, I will resume posting.

Kerodin will be there.

Given the geographical proximity and his dedication to the cause, I can only assume Mike Vanderboegh will be there as well.

Given that Alabama is likely not too hot for me in October, I will make an effort to attend as well. No promises though. My situation is anything but stable.

If you have a beef with Kerodin, STFU and present it to his face then.

I bet -and this is just a guess- that people will be a bit more civilized in real-life.

That goes for Anonymous commenters, as well Mike Vanderboegh and other commenters with community recognized names. Back off until October when you can handle it like a damn man. Not like a teenage girl in a facebook quarrel. Face to face. Like men used to do.

If it's so critical of an issue that you can wreak havoc in the community online over it, then it surely deserves the investment required for you to make it to the October PATCOM linked above.

I will treat any further internet-games-playing-troll personal attacks on Kerodin as coming straight from the mouth of the enemy until such time as these issues can be worked out -or even addressed- mano et mano. Face to face. Whether you're getting a government check or merely doing the work for free doesn't matter. The end result is the same. Division. Disgust. Paralysis. Fail.

You don't like someone's ideas, fine. Address the ideas. Factually. With logic. And reason.

In response to the latest flame war to erupt:

I'm not linking to the posts or sites, which contain enough vomit in the form of comments to completely and irrevocably drive away any thinking man from this "community" forever.

People, we are a largely ignored, esoteric community floating about in cyberspace. That's it. Some of our sites are watched by the enemy, but we are not a threat. They know it.

The enemies of liberty have not even begun to seriously try to disrupt our “community”.

No need. We’re doing it for free.

I must admit to not having followed most of the CPX Foxtrot comments at WRSA, nor have I been to Sipsey much to see the festivities.

One visit to each site some days ago, and one today, was enough.

I refuse to be drawn into this.

I do not agree with Mike 100% in everything he says, nor do I agree with Kerodin 100% in everything he says.

The originator of this latest round of poo flinging is very clear, though. We can argue about it, but the time stamps do not lie. I won't include links.

Scratch that. I won't argue about it.

I am on speaking terms with both men. I have respect for both, and see glaring inconsistencies with some of both men’s ideas, as I am sure they do with mine.

I am aware well of the issues involved in this debate, going all the way back to its beginning. On and on. There’s even been talk at Sipsey of a “duel” (not, as far as I can see, mentioned by Mike or Kerodin), complete with stand-ins and sniping (ironically, that's the murder of an American citizen, btw) from "800 yards". There have been accusations of both working as a provocateur, and comparisons to of Kerodin to Stalin. The comments have been far more ridiculous than the original arguments.

It's all provocateur-ish, and Stalin-esque, if you ask me. Stalin was an expert at dividing his underlings and opposition through many of the same mechanisms in play in this stupid internet flame war.

Come on. Really.

Here is my last and final response on this divisiveness that has erupted occasionally every few months to disrupt the community.

This nation is headed for Marxism, people. Our nation, our culture, our liberty, our children are in danger.

Do you give a damn?

Do you understand what Marxism is, and the evil it has in store for us? Do you understand how stupid and pale internet flame wars are in comparison?

Do you have nothing better to do? PT done? Kids taught and hugged? Mind sharpened? Body hard? Marksmanship up to par? Spiritual considerations squared away?

Our nation is being driven towards another interventionist war on the one hand, and collapse and internal strife on the other.

It's About People, Not Laws

If you still believe that there is a First Amendment, I encourage you to consider this bill.

Less than two months ago, the president approved the National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2012, essentially suspending habeas corpus from American citizens. Could the next order out of the Executive Branch be revoking some of the Bill of Rights? Only if you consider the part about being able to assemble a staple of the First Amendment, really. Don’t worry, though. Obama was, after all, a constitutional law professor. When he signed the NDAA on December 31, he accompanied his signature with a signing statement that let Americans know that, just because he authorized the indefinite detention of Americans didn’t mean he thought it was right.

Should President Obama suspend the right to assemble, Americans might expect another apology to accompany it in which the commander-in-chief condemns the very act he authorizes. If you disagree with such a decision, however, don’t take it to the White House. Sixteen-hundred Pennsylvania Avenue and the vicinity is, of course, covered under this act.
I think that one downfall of the American people, as well as the "patriot"/"militia" movement, is that it keeps threatening to fight the enemies of liberty, and is just waiting to pounce on the "first blatant Constitutional usurpation" it sees.

That's downright laughable. Clear, unmistakable, etched-in-concrete constitutional lines are violated with increasing regularity and impunity.

An indirect point is that Patriots seem to be fixated on the violation of laws, rather than the violation of people. Laws and Constitutions are means, not ends.

The TSA still violates our nation's women and children, and the Fourth Amendment, everyday. The violation of the Fourth is less concerning to me than the violation of women and children.

The bill I linked clearly and unmistakably violates the First. The violation of the First Amendment is less concerning to me than is the attempt to entrench a protected-class American aristocracy, shielded from the unwashed masses by a dutiful and well-rewarded Praetorian class.

I don't really give two damns about which clauses of a law are violated. I really could not care less about which -largely meaningless and easily circumvented- "Amendments" are violated. Laws and Amendments are meant to serve the people, not to be ends in themselves.

My people are being violated. That is what angers me.

I will intentionally not conclude this short post.

The Road to War- The US is Warned Off / Handed Plausible Deniability

Here is a Zero Hedge piece in which we are told the Israel "won't let us know" if they plan on launching a pre-emptive strike on Iran.

If you're easily offended by sarcasm or hostility towards Israel, avert your eyes and virtual "ears".

There might be some to follow.

Keep in mind that I think it is normal and natural for a nation -especially a racially homogenous one like Israel, where "race" and "nation" are largely one and the same- to seek its own national security and safety. It is natural for a race, a nation, a people, to seek their own advancement. This is nature.

While I go on and on here about Israel, what I am really doing is venting my rage toward my government for letting my nation be used as the tool of another nation, another people. I do not, at the most basic level, fault Israel for playing the US like a Fiddle. I do not, in the end, fault them for seeking their own security at the expense of another. This is unfair, it is parasitical, but nature is not fair, nor does she discriminate against the parasite. I fault the US for letting it happen.

One day, Israel might be forced to face "market forces", so to speak, in the realm of international relations, without "interventionist measures" and "bailouts".

Having said all that, there are a few points I'd like to put out there, in relation to the Zero Hedge piece.-

1.) This is the United States Government you're talking about. We have the entirefreakingplanet under surveillance. No planes, if we were attentive, would enter Iranian airspace without us knowing it. If we were paying attention.

2.) Given 1.) from above, I am forced to conclude that what this means is that Israel, when it launches a "preemptive" strike (read-war of aggression) against Iran, is going to publicly say that they didn't tell the US about it so that our nation's leaders can continue to dump billions of dollars into their country's coffers, all the while pretending to be upset with little Israel.

3.) These folks can speak to the loyalty Israel shows us in these types of encounters. Oh no, wait. Some of them can. The American servicemen who were killed can't.

"How dare the USS Liberty try to monitor Israeli communications! Bad United States! Bad! Hey, I know, let's kill some Americans, sink their ship, and machine gun their lifeboats (violating international law) so there are no survivors! Then we can blame it on Egypt and get more money from the US!"

A quote from Zero Hedge-

Needless to say, the thoroughly effete and comical US foreign policy has no response to follow up queries: "The White House did not respond to requests for comment, and the Pentagon and Office of Director of National Intelligence declined to comment, as did the Israeli Embassy." And while there may be no comments here, look for more warnings about Israeli citizens being targetted by deranged Iranian around the world. Because when all else fails, fearmonger. Next up: the Status Quo will be telling the world how not attacking Iran would be tantamount to global destruction. The only trade off - will the spike in crude to $150 outdo the surge in Obama's popularity rating as the Nobel Peace Prize winner puts his name in the hat for a nomination in the Nobel War Prize category as well.

A war is being cooked up, before your eyes. The US is being given, at best, a "plausible deniability" out. More likely, they are being told, "You will avert your eyes while we do this." Of course, if and when a counter-attack occurs, Israel will play Anglo-Europe Holocaust guilt and scream "Holocaust! Holocaust!" until American lives and blood are paid to secure Israel's aims and safety.

I do not think this economy can withstand what this war will bring.

- When Saddam went to retake Kuwait (land that had belonged to it not long before), the US attacked.

- The US attacked Afghanistan purportedly over its harboring of and support for Al-Qaeda. You know, those folks we're supporting in Syria, and the ones we backed in Libya...

- The US attacked Iraq because...wait...did we ever get the story straight on the "Why" of that one?

The US will do nothing if Israel attacks Iran.

That's a shame. Given the threat that an attack on Iran will be to our national security, one could make the case, using pre-emptive strike logic, for a pre-emptive strike on Israel.

If you can watch events unfolding and wonder why other nations hate Israel, you have a skill I do not.

If you can watch the US continue to give billions to Israel, along with military support, and think of the Middle East- "they hate us 'cuz we're free", your blinders should be taken off. Just for a second.

I laugh at Greece's cries for sovereignty, as billions are poured into it by nations to keep it afloat. You can't take others' money and not expect strings. Greece cannot expect Europe (Germany and France) to fix her screw ups without preconditions. To be independent, you have to be, well, independent.

Unless you're Israel. Then you can take the money and pull the strings.

'Specially in an election year.

Otherwise, the "H"-"bomb" (so to speak-not the nuke-) will be brought out and used.

And we can't have that.

Edit- Personally? I say ordnance is impacting Iranian soil NLT the end of March. There will be a counter-attack, and the US will step in at that time.

The Iran war will be a disaster for the US and Israel in the long run.

While I'm busy at my crystal ball, Obama will win in November, and gas prices hit record highs this year, whether or not we invade/attack Iran.

Letting States Decide Election Law is Wacist!

Unconstitutional provisions of the voting rights act are being scrutinized on a high level.

It's about time that states -all states- be allowed to change and decide election law without a FedGov permission slip. This Federal shackle needs to be taken off Southern states.

But wait! What about the wacists who will insist that people should prove their identity before voting???

Blacks and other minorities won't be allowed to vote!

The sky will fall, and before you know it, we'll be buying slave galleys once again!

The implication in this paragraph is sickening, and indicative.

Tushnet predicts "a falling-off of minority participation in rural areas" and more states adopting voter identification laws. However, he says, "it wouldn't go back to the world of widespread effective disenfranchisement because there's enough political power in the African-American community to keep things from getting too bad."

Cuz' without political power, and government guns, evil white man will quickly and inevitably move to not let the black man vote.

That's what he's saying. That's exactly what he's saying. What a tool.

Cuz White people are evil.

Even though white American gave black American the right to vote decades before white woman American was allowed to vote.

I agree with Holder, though. America is a nation of racist cowards. "Civil Rights" "Leaders" wouldn't dare discuss the subject with a competent debater. Some Thoughts

I was considering launching into a diatribe over the toxicity that has surfaced over at WRSA and other places concerning CPX Foxtrot.

I won't though, because the CPX is working exactly as intended, IMO. All of that "discussion" it has generated is right on. Good data.

It's quite instructive, IMO, and the "conversation" illustrates exactly why we're screwed, from the inability to read through it, to the assumptions, to the just general nastiness and venom that has arisen.

I'd would venture to say that CPX Foxtrot has reached the right audience, both in FreeFor and elsewhere, and that it has stirred exactly the right pots. The next one will be better, I bet. That's the purpose of exercises, training, and such.

Or maybe we can just sit back and utter imprecations and half threats and buy more useless GI castoff junk to reassure ourselves that we're "doing something".

Then I was going to launch into a flame war over this idiocy.

We all have pasts.

Get over it.

After spending the night working chest and triceps, helping out an eight year old with grammar, being "snow-snaked" by my kids upon arrival at home from work, being enthralled by the iridescent beauty of my wife's face and hair in the sun, finishing a birthday cake (that was late, and a disaster, btw), explaining to my boys (and showing them) the operation of a black powder revolver, I sat down to check emails, comments, and the blogosphere before finishing two of my college papers.

Then I realized something.

There's not enough time for this crap.

Not enough at all.

So, in short, I could care less about whether half the "community" thinks CPX Foxtrot is a waste. I could care less about Kerodin's real, past, and in the open conviction, or about the former life of former communists who -by admission- committed violent felonies against American citizens while cheering the advance of Marxism and the victory of people who killed -and were killed by- my kin.

-   Kerodin is my friend. I stand by him fully. Full stop. End of discussion.

-   Mike was at one point instrumental in bringing me to where I am today, for good or bad. End of story.

-   I support CPX Foxtrot 110%, and will push and support the next one (when/if it is released) as well. Period.

That's where I stand. I just don't have time for this stuff.

My society is falling apart, and I will be soon giving this broken mess to my children.

My nation is falling apart, and soon it will belong, in all of its fallen glory, to my children.

Right now, forces are pressing for a war that may end up engulfing my children.

This world, every day, grows into a more dangerous place into which my precious and tiny wife must venture.

Here's an interesting turn of events.

Interesting like the horrible mangle of automobiles and tractor trailers my family saw on the highway some weeks back.

The federal government will pay $350,000 to a group of illegal immigrants and permit them to stay in the country pursuant to a settlement reached in a lawsuit they filed after they were arrested.

The immigrants claimed the government violated their constitutional rights (AP asks- Doesn't the Constitution legally cover -in theory- only American citizens and the American government???) when federal agents raided a “Latino” neighborhood in New Haven, Conn., in 2007. Their reward for refusing to obey American laws is the largest settlement ever in a case involving an immigration raid.

According to the Yale Daily News, the non-citizens claimed ICE violated their rights under the Constitution. “In a 64-page complaint, three Yale Law School faculty members and four law students representing the immigrants allege that local, state and federal ICE officials violated the Fourth, Fifth and 10th Amendments by planning and executing the raids,” the newspaper reported at the time. (AP- Why do certain people only care about "rights" when criminals are the "victims"? What about firearms owners and those who want to keep their kids out of state-mandated medical care? What about people who want to sell, buy, and drink raw milk?)

Chris Crane, president of the union representing ICE employees, declared that the policy was a veritable “law enforcement nightmare.” “Any American concerned about immigration needs to brace themselves for what’s coming,” he warned. “This is just one of many new ICE policies in queue aimed at stopping the enforcement of U.S. immigration laws in the United States. Unable to pass its immigration agenda through legislation, the Administration is now implementing it through agency policy.”

(As an aside, I am seeing the same "agency policy" approach starting to be used by the government in its efforts to restrict the oil and gas industry...and you think gas is expensive now...)

I call myself a liberty advocate. Some people would say I do not go far enough for "liberty", as I believe there are laws that a government (which, in many cases, could be a local militia, sheriff, state or federal government) should enforce, and enforce ruthlessly, every time, without exception.

Among other things, I truly believe incoming immigration should be extremely tightly controlled and restricted. (It has been for much of American history. I invite readers to compare America's decline with its changing immigration policies. Immigration does have an effect. We are a nation of immigrants. Tightly regulated immigrants, until recently.)

I'll refrain, for the sake of not getting too far off course, from listing some of my other less-than-gentle cures for societal ills. Maybe some other time...

There is no need or reason to take a productive nation -that is productive for a reason- and import millions of people with no intention of assimilating into our society and culture (what is left of it, that is). America is/was prosperous for a reason, and anyone who tells you culture, freedom, and prosperity are not inextricably linked is blowing smoke.

It stands to reason that without the culture that made America (and the West in general) prosperous, there would have been no prosperity. If we import, reward, and encourage third-world cultures to flourish in our nation, and in the larger scene, the West, I believe we will import third world habits and the corresponding societal/economic ills.

Yes, I believe a declining lack of freedom contributes to the decay of a nation and society.

Yes, I believe a large and all-powerful government is, by and large, a bad thing.

I also believe that it is willful ignorance, at best, that denies the relationship between culture, prosperity, freedom, and the quality of life in a nation and society.

A government that does not protect its nation's culture and its people's interests is completely worthless.

Even open-border, free-market advocates will, in my opinion, be forced to admit that in a "Great Society" nation that steals from the productive to give to anyone who asks, the unlimited importation of the government-dependent class will result in the rapid destruction of any semblance of market freedom. This destruction will occur as the government desperately reaches out to do anything it can to maintain its grasp on power and legitimacy.

This is why I cannot accept free-market arguments for open borders. Open borders, in the political-economic arrangement we have now, will hasten the collapse of whatever market freedom is left in America and the west.

I tire of hearing the quote about not learning from history and being doomed to repeat it, so I won't parrot it again here.

Yet here is another great culture (and, on a lower level, a nation that was once part of that culture), once again committing suicide -as all great cultures have- through multiculturalism, expansionism, and the willful and forced integration of non-compatible foreign cultures.

And you know what?

It has little to do with learning (or failing to learn) from history. It has everything to do with human arrogance and pretending that "everyone is just like us".

All societies are not the same. All cultures are not the same. All peoples are not the same.

They will be though, when multiculturalism and governmental cowardice/incompetence reduces every nation and people in the world to the same third-world status.

Then, out of that mess, another great civilization will arise, assert itself, grow powerful, prosper, and eventually begin the same sad descent into obscurity that we are on now...

IT IS AN IMPORTANT FACET OF THIS CPX THAT DISCUSSION OF THIS CPX AND ITS OBJECTIVES REMAIN PRIVATE, AS DEFINED BELOW, UNTIL THE ACTION DATE NOTED ABOVE.

Overview

Given the current escalating tensions with Iran, and the known history of enemies of liberty in escalating and prompting crises to the detriment of the American people, the possibility of a large-scale or widespread false-flag attack on Americans has become a subject of conversation in FreeFor. A growing theme among liberty oriented persons is as follows: Given that such a false-flag attack would represent a crime of unprecedented magnitude, perpetrated upon thousands of innocent people (perhaps millions if executed with a nuclear weapon of whatever scale), the various diverse and often opposing elements of FreeFor could agree that preventing such an event would be of the utmost importance. The conclusion, well-founded or not, of some informal discussions appears to be the use of such a false-flag event as a common trigger for further action.

The objective of this CPX, then, is to provide a context in which to discuss this approach to assist in disrupting any such false-flag attack which may already be in the planning stages, while simultaneously exercising the capability of the FreeFor to act in concert to execute a multi-phase distributed operation at varying levels of private and public visibility, and across boundaries of interest. In this CPX, the discussion of the merits of the use of such a false-flag attack as a hypothetical FreeFor line of departure for local action plans, without discussing those hypothetical action plans themselves, may accomplish these objectives in a nonviolent way which is non-actionable given the current legal environment.

Objectives

1. To explore the possibility, credibility and implications of a false-flag threat, including means by which an inadvertent self-sustaining chain reaction of hair-trigger events might be avoided in non-false-flag circumstances.

2. To act as a confidence-building exercise among all elements of FreeFor across areas of interest, including those remaining within the governmental establishment at all levels, by selecting objectives and implementation goals of the widest possible appeal and which pose the minimum element of risk to the FreeFor participants.

Definitions

Action Date: The date and time that a planned action is to be implemented. In particular, the action date of this CPX signals the transition of communications about this CPX from private to public means. See also Execution Date.

Covert Participants: FreeFor persons or elements which, for reasons of their own, wish to maintain anonymity.

Execution Date: The date and time at which an important event is to be executed. For the purposes of this CPX, the execution date is purely hypothetical. Within that hypothetical context, the execution date would be the date at which OpFor implements a false-flag attack, or such a false-flag attack is identified as such within a reasonable certainty.

IT IS IMPORTANT TO NOTE THAT THIS CPX INVOLVES THE DISCUSSION OF THE IMPLICATION OF A FREEFOR CROSSING OF THE LINE OF DEPARTURE IN REACTION TO A FALSE FLAG ATTACK UPON AMERICANS, AND NOT THE PROMOTION OF SUCH A LINE OF DEPARTURE CROSSING.

Assumptions

1. That hostile elements within the governmental establishment, through various means of data collection and analysis, already have complete knowledge of this CPX. Accordingly, this CPX is structured in such a way that existing hostile knowledge is not only not harmful, but beneficial to the objectives of the CPX.

Operational Principles

I. Phases

1. This CPX is divided into three phases:

a. A private communication phase prior to the action date and time.
b. A public communication phase after the action date and time.
c. A hypothetical execution phase which would commence after the implementation of a false-flag attack by OpFor upon Americans.

2. Although this CPX is assumed to be completely known to hostile forces from inception, division of the CPX into two communication phases allows FreeFor to demonstrate an understanding of communication discipline principles. This two-phase approach also provides multiple opportunities for hostiles to expose themselves through the initiation of early triggering in the private phase, or other disruptive activities in either phase, and in ways which can be detected and noted by FreeFor participants, overt and covert, through passive means and without centralized coordination.

II. Private Communication Actions Prior to the Action Date.

1. During the private communication phase, overt participants are encouraged to communicate as widely as possible with other participants, overt or covert, about the content and implications of this CPX using only private communications. To deny hostiles additional information beyond that which they possess prior to this CPX, and for the protection of covert participants, these communications are to use only those linkages which are normal and customary for the participant. If a prospective participant then asks about details for the CPX, other participants should provide the prospect with the CPX using private communications if that prospect is within the normal and customary reach of the provider. If not, then an appropriate response would be:

"Thanks for asking about that. Ask someone you know about CPX Foxtrot. If they don't know, ask them to ask. When you get CPX Foxtrot, you will know why it has to be this way."

Examples of providing the text of this CPX to others within the normal or customary scope of FreeFor communications include:

"A friend sent this to me. It is an interesting concept that probably should be discussed further."
"I am concerned that this idea might have unintended negative consequences. Worth a read."

4. The lack of public storage of the CPX Foxtrot details during the private communication phase will assist in not only generating additional teaser interest in the CPX, but will also make it easier for specific covert FreeFor assets to identify potential hostile infiltrants during the private communication phase. If in doubt, don't post. Also, do not assist hostile traffic analysis by providing details of the CPX beyond those prospective participants with which you normally and customarily communicate. Avoid being ensnared by hostile fishing expeditions.

5. Prospective participants are to be treated with respect and encouraged. An "us-versus-them", or "clique" mentality is to be avoided at all times by all FreeFor participants. FreeFor participants are also encouraged to apply their own traffic analyses to identify potential hostile provocateurs attempting to disrupt the CPX through the incitement of interpersonal discord or discouragement of prospects.

A10. No. Storing this text on a web server makes it subject to being swept up by a search engine spider, and then appearing in search results. This would violate the intention of the private communication phase, which is to prevent search engines from reporting the full text of the CPX during this phase. Once the public communication phase begins, then this form of storage is an acceptable option.

Harry Potter never appealed to me though, and I refuse to support the filth coming out of Hollywood.

There might be more realistic and objective approaches to weighing actions and consequences, and looking for the terminus/endpoints of any given course of action.

The world is nasty and cruel beyond all reason. That merely is what it is; it is not "evil", it is just cold, hard, relentless nature. Nature does not care one whit for the individual, for "rights", for abstract concepts.

Children's books do not reflect this in a meaningful and realistic manner.

The "bad guys" win. A lot. Then...they become the "good guys", as it turns out, as they write history, the bad guys didn't win, after all...

Completely pure, absolute good vs. absolute evil struggles do not exist in this world.

They just don't.

The next time you're tempted to consider a fictional movie or a fictional tale as a moral compass, stop.

Instead, consider the lessons that can be learned from the ignoble and horrifying deaths of solitary soldiers, buried alive in the mud, blown to pieces at random, or suffocated by poison gas in a war that was completely avoidable and utterly inevitable.

Consider the lessons to be learned by the deaths of thousands, if not millions, of families whose worst crime happened to be being peasants in the wrong place at the wrong time.

Consider the lessons to be gleaned from people going about their work in colonial America, who were tarred and feathered by their neighbors and townspeople for attempting to collect taxes for their duly established government.

Consider the lessons to be learned from slaveholding, black marketeering, smuggling, insurrectionist racists who established a new government by force of arms and bloodshed, and banned non-european immigration after they violently rebelled against their government.

There are a lot of real-life moral lessons out there for the learning. None of them are easy or pretty.

Most of the worthwhile ones were written in innocent blood. Most of the worthwhile ones involve normal, "good" people who lived their lives well up until the point where they were killed for no good reason other than because of where they lived or where they happened to be at a given time.

I'm not blasting fiction here; it serves a purpose to be sure. I'm just saying that Harry Potter and the Lord of the Rings hold little sway over me as opposed to Verdun, the lives of Beria and Kolchak, and the Holodomor, among other things.

It is altogether fitting and proper that we should do this.

The US, according to its intelligence chief, is supporting Al-Qaeda in Syria against al-Assad.

The irony is too much here.

Here are some quotes, along with some enlightening links for context:

This guy says otherwise.

"U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton has recently called for "friends of democratic Syria" to unite against the regime. And to convene on February 24th to work out ways to further squeeze the Assad regime and bring Syrian opposition groups inside and outside the country together."

Meanwhile, while the US doggedly pursues intervention in certain nations for "humanitarian reasons", the escalating genocide in South Africa is solidly ignored.

"Humanitarian intervention" is code for "the people we want to win are losing". Remember the "humanitarian" intervention in Libya... and the lack of it when the Kurds the US encouraged to rise up against Saddam were slaughtered.

Now, there would seem to be some interesting currents running through the US' recent foreign policy moves. On the one hand, the US is preparing for war with Iran, more or less on Israel's behalf. On the other hand, the US is taking actions elsewhere that will ensure that the situation in the Middle East does nothing but continue to escalate. Do folks think the new Egyptian and Libyan governments are friendly towards the US and Israel? Do the same folks think what arises after regime change in Syria and Iran will be any different?

It's almost like the US, Israel, Al-Qaeda, Iran, Syria...it's almost like we're all marionettes, whirling around in patterns of ever-increasing speed and velocity, barely avoiding a catastrophic entanglement with each turn.

My take?

We're being played. All of us.

Some questions to consider out loud or internally.

Who is going to benefit from all this, in the end?

Who is losing now? Who will have lost in 20 years?

Who is winning?

Who is paying for it? What will the return on their investment be?

And most importantly, what can you and I do about it?

A Question for Revolver Gunsmiths / Armorers

(Sorry I took so long in getting this posted...)

A friend's .38 Special (Rossi 5 shot) revolver is having an issue with cylinder jamming. It can be banged loose against a hard surface and it will function again, but otherwise it is single action only.

Does anyone have any thoughts on why it is acting out?

It is about 50% reliable as a double action, and flawless as a single action.

I'm not very well versed in revolvers, so I wasn't much help. Any ideas?

Using the Same Measure

Israel indirectly admits to terrorist acts.

Here's my stream of thought-

Israel assumes attacks on its diplomats are Iranian sourced. Could be. After all, there's a clear motive. What else do you need to convict? Certainly not evidence!

Then it calls these acts terrorism (as if sanctions do not precicely fit the definition of economic terrorism).

Sort of like the bombings of Iranian nuclear scientists on Iranian soil.

By the same logic Israel uses to accuse and convict Iran in the linked article, Israel can be accused and convicted of killing Iranian scientists on Iranian soil. So far Israel's logic, if applied in the reverse, would condemn it every bit as much as it is attempting to condemn Iran.

To quote a wise Man..."For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you." Nowhere does this passage say "Do not judge", rather, it explains the hazards and potential for one's hypocrisy to be exposed when doing so. No one was better at exposing hypocrisy, or more brutal is pointing it out, than the wise Man whom I reference.

So let me see if I understand... it's acceptable for Israel to kill Iranian scientists (assuming they did), but "terror" for Iran to kill (assuming they did as well) Israelis? Israel has "plausible deniability" in all cases, but Iran does not, in any case?

Is the hypocrisy burning anyone else?

I guess which side one believes is a matter of personal preference and logical deduction, according to the facts as one sees them.

I have spoken of all this repeatedly, however. A pretext for a military strike is being fabricated. Right now.

America sends billions of dollars and thousands of lives halfway around the world to enforce its (and its allies') will on Iran, then threatens to impose more (destructive and unintended consequence-ridden) sanctions on other nations that refuse to act as de facto agents of American foreign policy.

For a nation that portrays itself as a bastion of liberty, there sure is a whole lot of coercion flying around.

Doug: That's ridiculous. It's true that just one or two nukes would turn most of Israel to glass, but it's a matter of mutually assured destruction (MAD), just as the détente between the US and USSR was. Israel is reported to have about 200 nuclear weapons, and the Iranians know it. Even if they launched a successful first strike against Israel, they would get wiped off the face of the earth in response. The regime in Iran is repressive and borderline lunatic, but they aren't that stupid. No way are they going to attack Israel with nukes. They not only cannot, but should not, be singled out for exclusion from the nuclear club.

L: But they're part of the axis of evil, don't you know?

Doug: Speaking of evil, it's evil to initiate the use of force or fraud. If Iran enriches uranium or even builds tools for war, that's not evil per se. But using force to stop them from doing something that is not in itself wrong is wrong, and that would make Iran's attackers the axis of evil.
In my mind, the US is the biggest threat to peace in the world today. I can easily imagine those in power in the US starting a war over any silly pretext, real or imagined. It could easily happen by accident at this point. Things go wrong. Maybe some young hotheads in Iran's Revolutionary Guard decide to take a boat out and attack a US frigate – launch a few RPGs at it before they're blown out of the water. Then the US feels it needs to mete out some punishment and launches a strike against the base the boat came from – which would be attacking the Iranian mainland – and the thing spins completely out of control.

But that leads me to think about the subject. In the old days, when Jesse James or other thieves robbed a bank, all the citizens would turn out to engage them in a gun battle in the streets. Why? Because it was actually their money, not the bankers'. It was just being stored in the bank; a robbed bank had immense personal consequences for everyone in a town. Today, nobody gives a damn if a bank is robbed – they'll get their money back from a US government agency. The bank has become impersonal; most aren't locally owned. And your deposit has been packaged up into some unfathomable security nobody is responsible for. The whole system has become corrupt. It degrades the very concept of money. This relates to why kids don't save coins in piggy banks any more – it's because they're no longer coins with value, they're just tokens, essentially worthless. All of US society is about as sound as the dollar now.

Actually, it can be argued that robbing a bank isn't nearly as serious a crime today as robbing a candy store of $5. Why? Nobody in particular loses in the robbery of today's socialized banks. But the candy merchant has to absorb the $5 loss personally. Anyway, if you want to rob a bank today, you don't use a gun. You become part of management and loot the shareholders through outrageous salaries, stock options, and bonuses, among other things. I truly dislike the empty suits that fill most boardrooms today.

There's not a lot of time, but in my experience, state-level legislative bodies can be positively influenced through public appearances of lots of people, and they are more easily brought to listen by public input than, say, US Congressional folks are.

Show-up, call, email, demand a roll-call vote on Constitutional Carry in your state.

Yeah, yeah, I know, politics is dead and all, but a fellow would be pretty dense not to chime in on this one.

As a person who has recently moved from a Constitutional Carry state to a non-Constitutional Carry state where a permission slip is required, I can tell you that this is one fight you do want to get in on.

Onto Liberty: Preparing for War

Onto Liberty points to several more indicators in the rising crescendo of war drums across the world.

The most pro-American, pro-Israel, pro-Iran, pro-Russian, pro-human thing people can do right now is hope and pray for peace.

This thing could blow over, it could be a quick and acute series of strikes with limited responses, or it could get supremely ugly, and quick.

It is only human arrogance that makes us think we can control where the spark goes, once lit.

There are folks who think that stance against a war on Iran is similar to the weakness of the "appeasers" in the pre-WW2 era, although the differences are many, and not controlling another sovereign nation's internal programs does not, in my opinion, constitute appeasement. For those folks, and other liberty/historical minded people, I would ask a few questions, since thinking is not my forte...

It seems Obama is using the coercive arm of the State to override Catholics' beliefs on birth control.

It likely was somehow a bit of a surprise to Catholics, who decisively voted for the man, according to Reuters, in 2008.

You can't have it both ways, folks.

Well, isn't that a bummer. It's not like his views on government and its proper role in the life of the citizen were hidden. Supporting a pro-infanticide, all-but-openly-Marxist candidate is o.k., I guess, that is, until he forces his views on you.

More accurately, Obama is mandating the type of insurance coverage they must provide.

Question- Was it ok with the Catholic church when Obama, et. al., mandated to me the details of my healthcare insurance?

I bet Catholics vote differently this year.

I can't say I have a lot of sympathy for a bloc of people who largely voted to elect a Marxist to be the President of the united States, but then again, he is clearly in the wrong here.

If the Catholics choose to stand and fight over this, I will stand with them.

In spite of the fact that the majority of Catholics voted for him.

I recently had the opportunity to speak with an acquaintance of mine who is a serving police officer, albeit in a small town that will go unnamed in order to protect his identity and possibly his job.

This particular town, like so many others, is now festooned with a modern, oversized Homeland Security Center (formally known as a police and fire station). In response to my question as to how he liked the new digs, he told me that they were quite spacious and even a bit luxurious, complete with automatic lights, water taps and even toilets. He also told me that the building was set up so that, on a moment's notice, an entire emergency federal task force could be moved in, plugged in, and ready to operate.

Further on in the conversation, he let it be known that the police department in this rural town, a place where anything more than the most minor of crimes is virtually unknown, will soon have its squad cars outfitted with special equipment allowing its officers to pull up next to a bank, school, or any number of other buildings and wirelessly tap into the security camera system to observe what's going on.

It was at that point that I couldn't help but comment, "You know, all of these sort of things are a bit concerning to the average citizen, wouldn't you agree?"

To which he nodded in agreement, before adding, "Personally, I'm a lot more worried about the corporations."

I like this guy, but that comment crossed a personal line with me, and so I said, somewhat stridently, "Seriously? Listen, unlike the government, which can force you to do things that you don't want to do - under penalty of jail or worse - corporations can't force you to do anything. In fact, they have to treat you right in order to earn your business."

In response, he waved his hands to break into my modestly indignant diatribe and proceeded to clarify his position - tellingly, in a lowered voice. What he said caught me by surprise.

"No, you don't understand. That's not what I'm talking about. What I'm talking about are the corporations that are now working with us. You see, it's illegal for the government to keep certain kinds of data on the public without a court order. That's not the case for the corporations. Get it? Technically, we don't keep the data, the corporations do, we just access it. That's what worries me."

Before the conversation could go any further, we were called to our respective responsibilities and so left it at that.

Consider factors such as crime rate, rising violence against ethnic Norwegians, and demographic realities in his native country. Then, consider the means used to combat these things.

There is some evil to be found in any direction. There is some good to be found in any direction.

This could be considered a counterforce and/or countervalue preemption, depending on one's perspective.

One way or the other, regardless of how I feel about his actions, I have to conclude that Breivik acted rationally according to his worldview.

Social Contract

A recent discussion on Iran brought up an interesting point.

Some might say that failure to stand in lockstep (as the US has said it is doing) with an ally is breaking a nation's word.

Like this. How many Kurds died in Iraq due to American betrayal? America demonstrated that it is the master at making promises, to be abandoned as soon as they are not expedient, regardless of how many lives are lost as a result.

Iraq is but one example of how the US meddled in another nation's affairs, received blowback, over-corrected, and ended up in an absolute disaster. For the people of that nation, of course. But, remember, they only hate us 'cuz we're "free".

This brings me to another concept though, one that arose during a conversation with a close friend.

This concept is the Social Contract. Here is my line of thinking on social contracts and inherited responsibilities. I will illustrate it with a few questions, and then explain. Answer the following questions truthfully:

1.) Are you, if you are white, responsible for the past slavery of blacks, and subject to paying reparations today?

2.) Are you, if native American, responsible for the Fort Mims massacre, or the starvation of Jamestown, and subject to paying reparations??

3.) Are you, as an American citizen, responsible for the repeated betrayals and resulting slaughters of Iraqi Kurds?

I would say, and I think most readers here would agree, that the answer, in all three cases, is an absolute and unequivocal "no". Why? One might say that he or she did no such thing, and cannot be held responsible. And that is absolutely true.

And so, in a roundabout way, by answering the above questions, you have begun to unravel the concept of a binding "social contract". You are not liable for your ancestors' or predecessors' actions. You are not personally morally liable for agreements they made or failed to make.

The state changes this however, through its monopoly on violence and coercive force. Can you hear the noxious hissing of the state? "You WILL honor that treaty or that agreement brought into force by people before you with your tax dollars and obedience, or we will send heavy infantry to arrest you. If you resist arrest, you will be killed." Further, the state growls, "You will send your sons to die for another man's policies, for another man's conniving schemes and intrigues...if he does not go, we will subdue him and lock him up. If he refuses to be locked up, we will kill him."

There is no "social contract". There is only the coercive force of the state, the monopoly on violence, impressing upon your life the will of people who have come before you.

So, to answer the concern raised in the earlier conversation about keeping a nation's word...

I will keep my word. I do believe that a man's word is his bond, but... I agreed to no such nonsense. I signed no such treaty. As a result, I have no moral obligation to honor a treaty or law that obliges me to act against my conscience. I have every moral right to resist and defy those who would try to force the consequences of a decision I did not make upon me.

There are four words that sparked the first American Revolution. They were spoken in defiance of the existing crown/colonist relations, in defiance of the existing English "Social Contract".

"We Will Not Comply"

These four words have sparked quite a bit of violence over the course of our nation's history, and eventually led to a second revolution in America some years ago. Hundreds of thousands of our nation's best men died to determine which course the social contract disagreement would take. As I said before, brute force and violence determined the answer. It always does, when the question is forced.

"We Will Not Comply"

Uttering these four words to the wrong -or, perhaps, right- person changed my life irrevocably some years back.

I will not comply.

I will raise my children -and lead them by example- to refuse to kill and die, to refuse to be a slave for and to a "Social Contract" that violates their conscience. I will not teach them to be subject to others' commitments, promises, or lies, nor will I teach them to be pawns of the state and victims of its intrigues. Such a position is, in my opinion, correct in a secular sense, and, for those who are Christians, spiritually correct. It is instructive to note, as was pointed out here recently, that the majority of the New Testament was written from prison, and that the disciples of Christ ended their life either through state violence or in state captivity.

Perhaps such a stand, and a life that demonstrates this, not just flag-waving, would ultimately prove fatal.

Historically speaking, it almost always has, if the question is forced.

Well.

If one is going to die, one should do so on terms that are agreeable to one's conscience.

One should also endeavor to deserve such a death, should it be forced upon him by the collective.

When You Can't Go to the Range

Since moving to a new area, I find I am in a place that seems much less friendly to firearms and shooting than was Alaska, and I have found that it is much more difficult here than in Alaska to find a place to shoot.

The indirect benefit of that to me is that I concentrate more on dry-firing with my carbine and long-range rifle than ever.

Here is the drill I've been doing. I do this as often as time allows, up to daily.

I originally found this drill here, by the author of this book.

It works for me. It helps with weapons handling and weapon-related functional strength, without a doubt.

- Load two magazines with a few snap caps.

- Execute 20 reps of bringing the weapon up, acquiring a target (I like to use a dot on a piece of paper, or a door hinge across the room, for example) and firing.

- Execute 20 more reps left handed.

- Complete 20 reps of firing, execute a magazine change, and chamber a new snap cap.

- Do the last step again, left handed.

- Next, I take a 2.5 pound weight, and secure it to my weapon. I do 10 reps of acquiring the target, then firing.

- Hold the weapon on target for 30 seconds, with the 2.5 pound weight still attached. Complete 10 “sets” of this hold.

- With the 2.5 pound weight on the rifle, hold the weapon on target, as much as possible, for 10-20 seconds. Do this 5-10 times. Your call.

Adjust as necessary to fit your level of fitness and firearm weight.

Obviously, I’ll do this easier with my AR “pistol” or my AR than would a person wielding an M-1 or M-14. No matter. Get as good as you can with what you have. It’s also much easier with my AR than it is with my 14 pound long-range rifle.

So, easy, right?

Give it a go and see.

I bet after a few weeks of doing this, you’ll notice your speed has improved, your weapon control is tighter, and your weapon feels lighter.

PT and weapons, all at the same time? Score. Soon, maybe we'll go after some good old fashioned rifle PT.

I am posting, for your consumption, a recent comment made here on infanticide, wherein the commenter compares an unborn baby to a rapist and murderer, and argues that just as lethal force is justified to kill a rapist, such is true of babies as well.

Wow.

Just...wow.

I mean, really. Are you joking?

Oh, and, Anon 9:29... check the law. You ARE liable for everything done by your use of deadly force. You ARE. If you kill an innocent while protecting yourself, you ARE legally liable.

As for the rest of your argument, I don't really know how to answer. A baby? Encroaching on the mother? Making a conscious decision to "steal" from the mother? Really?

This has taken the pro-baby killing arguments that I've heard to an all new low.

In the (quite rare, overall) cases where infanticide is committed because of rape, all that is accomplished is that a new victim is created. Now the person who was initially a victim has become an aggressor.

Onto the comment that gives the baby a new "rapist" status.

AP - you give an unborn human rights to encroach upon the mother that you would not give a born human being. No one has the right to take life sustaining resources (blood, food, oxygen etc.) from another by force - whether by murder or rape. That includes an unborn human.

That principle is also why, if you employ deadly force to lawfully protect yourself, and you accidentally kill an innocent, you are not guilty of murder.

There is a case to be made that this is necessary.

There is also a case to be made that this would be destructive.

On the one hand, Americans need jobs.

On the other hand, many Americans are unwilling or unqualified.

I'd be interested to hear the protectionist point of view on this as well as the free/unfettered market point of view.

Is this a "market" issue, or an immigration issue?

Some points to consider, if these visas were to be cut off:

- American industries need these workers, or they may die/offshore.

- This may drive Americans to seek training, or it may drive these businesses to where they can find the workers they need. It could lead to a rise in wages (and therefore product cost to the consumer), or an offshoring of the industry.

- Protectionism in the form of visa refusal could lead to a spurt of Americans training for these jobs, or it could lead to the offshoring of industry.

- On the other hand, if free markets do = unrestricted visas (and I'm not sure they do), how is the free-market philosophy compatible with nationalism, borders, etc.? Wouldn't an ideal free market world consist of a world where nations have no borders, and culture/nationalism is subordinated to the interests of economic activity (read: international capital/banks)?

I think that in the end, the "economy" must serve the people, the nation. For a nation or people to be subject to an "economy" is backwards and destructive, in my opinion.

I'm going to withhold my opinion on this subject for now, as I am unsure which context to see this issue. A market issue? A language/borders/culture issue? Protectionism? Globalism? Anti-globalism?

I'd be interested to hear your thoughts.

Public Schools=Child Endangerment

My answer was this," If this is such a problem, why do you send your children to public school, where you have no control over someone pushing drugs on your child in the first place?" I don't have that problem, because my 8 children do not go to public school.
Quit asking the state to take care of your children people. If you are going to send them off to a public cage system, don't gripe about the dangers they face there. Who in their right mind would send their child to the battlefields of Iraq? Who in their right mind would tell their 8 year old, "son, I know there are many dangers in this world, but your a man now, deal with it, if something happens to you, I will call the school admins and chew them out."

You know there are dangers there and you send them for 8 hours a day EVERY day?

Taleb expresses perfectly what I think, and the document introduces to me some new ideas. His book, The Black Swan, heavily influenced my thinking and worldview, ever since I first read it.

Here's an audio interview also recommended by Black Six. I have not yet listened to it, but it'll be good, I believe.

We don't know everything; we can't predict everything. To think we can is both arrogant and ignorant. All we can do is work towards resilience, as John Robb calls it. Away from fragility, as Taleb might say.

Unfortunately, our nation is hurtling away from resilience and towards fragility as fast as it possibly can move.

Right into the gaping maw of the next Black Swan. I bet you never knew swan had teeth (or maws, for that matter), did you?

Can someone explain to me the thought process which enables one to describe an unborn human as not an unborn human?

I mean, when it leaves the womb, it's a born human, a baby.

How then is it not a baby, a human, when it is inside the womb?

Is there a point at which it is definitely going to born human, before which it might be born as a chicken, or a rock?

It's not a fetus, it's an unborn human.

Once this is admitted, every argument for infanticide -baby murder- falls apart.

Guess that's why they call it a "fetus".

Prohibiting abortion is no more anti-liberty than prohibiting murder.

Jefferson said:

"Rightful liberty is unobstructed action according to our will within limits drawn around us by the equal rights of others."

Do we not all have the natural right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness?

This is not a "women's rights" issue. It is an "unborn human rights" issue.

I know some of you tire of my harping on Iran. Read this piece anyway, and think about how it can be applied here, CONUS, as the "good guys" (FreeFor) struggle against the "bad people" (OPFOR).

This piece is about Iran, but it is about directed history, public perception, and popular support. Pay attention, regardless of your feelings and opinions on the subject at hand. If I've torqued you off recently, look past that, and learn from this, whether you agree with the author or not. Tactics, not ideology.

Students of WW1 might draw parallels between the dynamics at work in Europe, and those at play in the world now, as it pertains to this situation. Perhaps we are too far along this road now to prevent what may come. Alliances, pride, and national interests on both sides may make what is in this video, and worse, a reality. These were the same forces that worked to make an entirely preventable WW1 an inevitable bloodbath.

Perhaps, being the digital age, we will have Israeli, Iranian, and American versions, if not Chinese and Russian ones to look forward to, as well.

The most certain way to ensure this video's events come to pass is to throw a few sparks into the tinderbox.
Maybe it will be merely a small punitive strike in Iran, only killing a few hundred people similar to the ones in the video. Maybe it will be painless to us. Maybe nothing will come of it in the short term.

In the long term, it will validate small nations' "need" for nukes. It will encourage nuclear proliferation, through simple "market" (if you will) forces. It is completely plain and obvious to me that if Iran already possessed nuclear weapons comparable to Israel's, an attack would be off the table.

When the next big "terror event" happens, we can look at one another, blame those evil folks "over there" for hating us because we're free, and we can start yet another war.

We "got" Saddam. We "got" bin Laden. We "got" Khadaffi. Next, we'll "get" Iran.

You people advocating for liberty and against perpetual war had better start seeing this for what it is.

Already the US government is trying to draw the line between "al-Qaeda" and Iran. Come on.

Why would you waste your time going to a political rally right now? My time would be better served prepping for the eventual. We're past the point of fixing this country with politics. Its a waste of time and energy, and your money as well.

Why would I go to a political rally?

To protect old ladies from Marxist thugs. Remember the violence against the Tea Parties last year?

To sew confusion and disorder in the opponents' rallies, through infiltration.

To provide a "hard" edge to mostly "soft" movements. Tea party folks may turn the other cheek, and that is noble, but violence directed towards them must be countered, or it will continue.

"Moral high ground" arguments do not affect Marxists. Their end is their only consideration. They will come at you and disrupt your event by any possible means, and keep doing so until they are forced to stop. They are not "shamed", as many people mistakenly believe, by the victims' refusal to fight back. That is not how these people work. This encourages them.

Because the blueprints for defeating Marxist uprisings always involve people getting hurt, just as the blueprint for Marxists always involves violence.

Besides any movement hoping for political change must have a political edge, no matter how hopeless the cause seems.

Is the system repairable by working through the system?

I do not believe so.

Would I attend a political event hoping for the system to magically change itself because I "showed up"?

No.

Is getting together for a Glenn Beck lovefest going to change anything?

Nope.

Would I attend a political rally -Marxist, Tea Party, or otherwise- for other reasons?

There are several ways to build popular support. Most of them involve being on the ground.

Mitt Romney is a welfare queen. As we'll see below, without the tax-breaks given to interest payment, the private equity business model would never have been born. Those tax-breaks are nothing but a taxpayer subsidy, paid for by everybody else picking up the slack for Mitt Romney and his crony corporate raiders.

I completely agree that Mitt is a welfare queen. While I believe it is not quite accurate to call tax breaks "welfare"... when they are not applied equally to every person and business in America, they can be seen, indirectly, as subsidies. When they are drafted and inserted into legislation for the sole purpose of extending crony-capitalism, they are welfare.

There is a reason we will never have a truly honest and fair tax system (...besides the fact that it is armed robbery, or theft-through-coercion). This reason has nothing to do with claims that "the poor" would suffer. It has everything to do with Washington protecting its interests and bedfellows.

Although I am a free-market type, I have no love for "private equity" firms. Contained in the linked article is a good, basic breakdown of how they destroy businesses. Someone very close to me has worked in a business owned by such a firm for quite a few years now. In my experience, their nature requires them to seek short term gain no matter the long-term consequences to the businesses they destroy seeking profit purely on a quarter-to-quarter basis.

A company without the crutches they are provided through government market interference would quickly fail.

Private equity firms, without beneficial government distortion of the markets, would quickly become a thing of the past.

But, as I quoted yesterday, there are no longer markets. Only interventions.

Gingrich is no better. He has been in American Government forever (thus negating any claims of his to not be "part of the problem"), and has proven where he stands with deeds, not words.

Remember the Dead Elephants' Contract With America? You know, the one that lasted long enough to get some Dead Elephants re-elected, then was dropped like a hot coal? Yeah, that one. Newt had a hand in drafting that, and should be held doubly accountable for straying from it.

So I was doing some research on these Provos, when I happened upon these provos.

Now, I'm not an anarchist. Disclaimer out of the way, look what these folks did with a wedding to weaken their enemies' PR. Look at their use of humor.

Can anyone think of how these methods may be adapted to our situation, and the political environment in which we find ourselves today?

Use humor to discredit and mock the TSA? How?

VIPR? Humor? How?

Marxist-leaning Occupy or other similar events? Can their events be disrupted through spontaneous and unexplained escalation between Occupy and Police (that would discredit both)? Panic? Dispersion? Embarrassment? These people interrupted and ruined a pro-life gathering the other day (I forgot who linked to this the other day...apologies). Have they not declared and brought upon themselves a new phase in the American struggle?

Can we, as a loose, "open-sourced" movement, find a way to shape events instead of watching them be shaped? The Dutch Provos did this well, and non-violently. They discredited their government and police through a wedding.

How many Marxist political events are going to take place this year around the country?

They are pushing for all of the evils that are inherent with Marxism.

Think about how we, how YOU can shape events around you. Not observe. Shape. Use humor, or smoke, or whatever.

Can our tech-savvy friends use twitter feed to promote misdirection, confusion, and "battlefield deception"? I don't know. I wish I were of this type. Tech and computer-savvy assets are the new Main Battle Tanks. Yeah. That includes your kids, who pick up on technology as if they were born knowing how.

A long time ago, my wife and I were victims of MPs getting the wrong door on a domestic disturbance. We were asleep when the knock came.

I was treated like a criminal while my nineteen year old pregnant wife was taken out in the frigid entryway, barefoot, and questioned for 20 minutes.

Turns out the folks across the hall were getting a bit overzealous about a football game. The cops got the wrong door, and I nearly was arrested.

As for the bungling chainsaw idiots, look me up, you know where to find me...and I might just give you a few pointers, gratis, on breaching and entering. Then again, maybe not. Maybe I'll just spit on you instead.

The hit team that murdered Jose Guerena never took me up on my offer, either.

While I currently have no money whatsoever tied up in a 401k / retirement fund account, I do dabble some in FOREX, and have invested in silver, other physical assets, as well as the means to produce, defend, and resist. I do not consider FOREX an investment, personally. It is entertainment, for the most part.

Word to the wise in FOREX- three opinions I will offer:

1.) Oanda is a good platform, with no lower limit to start an account. I started mine with less than $50. One can open and start trading with $10 or less (although I'd say $10 is a reasonable minimum if you want to see any movement).

2.) You will get your rear end handed to you regularly, and severely, until you figure out a system. Then, the beatings are less frequent and severe. Notice I only said less. Systems are out there for big money. Or, you can google. "Stochastics", "MACD" and "SAR" are three tools I use.

3.) The Euro is in trouble. Where there's trouble, there's money.

Now, back on subject...

I do not, and have not for some time, consider outflows of resources from a person to Wall Street "investing". It is speculation at best, and paying others to steal your money at worst.

I am not condemning or trying to offend any who have retirement or other accounts tied up in Wall Street. Not at all. I would still have money tied up in Wall Street if I had not left my last position for a new one. I would, however, advise that the risk with such investing/speculation is much more than what it may at first seem.

Having blabbered on and offered my unsolicited opinions, I "heard" an interesting opinion "over coffee" this morning. Actually, it was in an email from Casey Research, a right-minded outfit, concerning the obvious manipulation going on in the gold, and (especially) silver markets right now.

"...there are no markets anymore, only interventions."

It seemed quite fitting, and in light of the debates and discussions I've been having with others in my ongoing Business Administration classes, it struck me as quite true.

The problem with discerning these events when they happen are many, however. The official version of events gets in the way, for one. Another factor is the tendency of the human mind to need to make sense of events, especially traumatic ones. A reasonable explanation provided soon after the event is easily and readily swallowed. In the case of a violent event, the public usually hungers for "payback".

Historically speaking, false flag events usually are not recognized as such until either a.) years later, when it is a non-issue, or b.) when the perpetrator is defeated and standing trial for "war crimes".

I see that many of my countrymen are willing to question the government when it comes to gun laws, taxes, "Obamacare", the TSA, etc. These things are easy, as they fit neatly within our worldview. We want to question the things that we do not like; that we do not want to accept.

Do you have the honesty and objectivity however, to question the government when your countrymen are lying wounded and dead after an event that seems, at least at first glance, cut-and-dried?

Do you have the honesty and objectivity to question everything, even when your psyche is desperately looking to grasp the easiest explanation available?

Will you have the presence of mind to reject the hysteria and fearmongering leveraged by such a potential occurance, when and if it happens?

Iran has very little to gain from an all out war with the US. Perhaps Iran's allies will recognize some benefit, but Iran itself would suffer greatly in such a conflict.

A sufficiently deadly attack on the US or its allies would serve the purposes of the folks who want this war, and, incidentally, it would likely serve the cause of American Marxism and the evolving police state. And the public would eat it up. Every bit of it.

Qui bono?

Recognizing that such possibilities exist puts you ahead, mentally, of those who do not.

Question everything.

The Crux of the Matter

Think cynical, and in the real world.

We've staged 100,000 troops within striking range of Iran.

If any nation has the "right" to a pre-emptive strike right now, it is Iran. That's right, I said it.

If Iran hits those troops, it will be a true preemption. If the US hits Iran, it will be a "preventive" strike, not a "pre-emptive" strike. There are ulterior motives at work here. (Does anyone see the irony in how Obama ran so hard against Bush's record, and is about to repeat his pretext for the Iraq war...)

A nation, the US (along with Israel, if they decide to soil their hands), with the intent and the means to attack another (Iran) is staging troops for an attack. Right now, Iran has more standing by far to pre-empt than does the US and Israel. The US and Israel would be attacking an Iran that has only rhetoric, and the potential means to possibly attack, someday...in the future. Yes, Ahmedinijad has states words to the effect of doing something to Israel. He does not have the power -in theory or in reality- to order such an attack unilaterally, and he is mostly a lame duck, anyway. Take the time to study the Iranian political system. Quit fear-mongering based on words.

If Iran takes the pre-emptive option, history will record them as the aggressors...

...just as it blames Japan for initiating WW2, even though an honest study reveals Japan had no other choice. Kerodin touched on this reality in his piece I linked to, and I applaud him for it.

This is all, of course, assuming the US wins.

Now stop and think, "maybe we're not the only ones preparing for a war in this area".

Think of the "Israel/America/NATO" side, full of indebted nations on the decline...

Then think of the "Iran/Russia/China/India" bloc, on the rise, as well as mutually entertwined and interdependent.

Really, think about it. Hard.

I do not care one whit about Iran. I do not care about Israel, or Zionists, or slobbering Christian pastors who are soaking their pulpits with spittle while screaming for war. I do address these issues, primarily to express my real concern-

The United States that leaves this war will not resemble the United States that entered it. This applies militarily, economically, and socially, as much as it does in the liberty and population spheres. The age of America's foreign intervention impunity is over.

Let me rephrase all that, to language that matters.

The world and nation my children continue growing up in will not be anywhere near as stable, secure, or free as the one I grew up in if/when this fight happens. I may even lose children, and therefor posterity to this fight, in the end.

That is why I care.

I don't care about other nations and geopolitical entities, lobbyists, politicians, or Americans who put other nations' interests ahead of ours.

I do not care one bit, in the end.

I don't even really give a damn about the geopolitical region / political entity known as the United States, when you break it down to the most basic level.

I owe nothing to my nation-state.

I owe everything to my children, my blood, my posterity, my tribe.

That is why this all matters, to me.

I have few doubts that we will fight, and soon, in the Middle East.

Nothing I say here on this mostly unnoticed outlet will change that.

While I'm not advocating the initiation of festivities, the "left" has shown the willingness to do so to achieve political ends, or, more accurately, just to make a point. Recently, they've pushed down old ladies at Tea Parties, got rowdy in Wisconsin, and Occupy is showing signs of waking up.

I think the days of wearing cute Benjamin Franklin costumes and tricorn hats to lovey-dovey Glenn Beck rallies are over. This isn't a game.

I think that if you go to the streets for your political beliefs this year, anticipating the possibility of trouble would be wise.

I don't recommend looking for it; neither do I recommend backing down in the face of leftist provocations.

This nation does not resemble the pre-revolution colonies in the 1700s. It resembles 1920/30ss Germany, on the verge of a further irreversible slide into a collectivist hell. Weakened, under heavy Marxist influence, economically on the edge of an abyss, and full of barely-contained tension.

Whether or not you look for confrontation on political grounds is your decision. I would advise against it. I think we'll have our fill, eventually.

I would also strongly advise against standing idly by while old women and senior citizens are attacked by Marxist trash.

Just some thoughts. Take 'em or leave 'em.

John Hagee, I hold a special place in my heart for you. It can hardly be called a warm place.

In fact, it's right around the coldest place imaginable.

Perhaps this is because I once listened to every word you said.

Maybe this is because I wasted my hard-earned money on your books when I was a private making only a few hundred dollars a month.

Can anyone please tell me how the above video relates to this?-

A Christian minister, using the pulpit to call for a war of aggression.

A church full of deceived sheep, waving flags and calling for blood.

How far the church has fallen since its earliest days, when Christians chose to be killed rather than kill for the state, and rather than committing idolatry through state worship.

I am not saying that a nation should not fight, or that a Christian should not fight. Regular readers know my stance on war and violence.

I am not coming at this man from a position of self-righteousness. It has been a long time since I walked the pews of a church.

I am using the Bible, which I know rather well, to hold this man to the standard he claims to follow.

I am saying that it is repugnant to me to see this man, who I once admired, using his pulpit to call for blood in a war of aggression.

Spreading the love of Christ with bombs.

He advocates sending unsaved people, who he believes will go straight to hell after death, to their eternal damnation.

For a nation-state, a temporary geopolitical alliance. An "accident of geography".

How spiritual. What an eternity-based view.

Oh yeah. I forgot. God hates Iranians.

"Comply or Die" is his take on the future of diplomacy.

"Do what we say or we'll kill you in a very cost effective manner".

I tend to agree with Mountain Guerrilla though.

It's not, "Comply or Die".

Rather, for the guerrilla fighter facing drones, it should be -

"GET UP AND QUIT CRYING BOY! ADAPT AND OVERCOME! EVOLVE!"

Not "Comply or die".

What man creates, man can defeat.

Evolve...or die.
